Biography
[supplied by artist]
Rodd P.'s sound
has been compared to that of major DJ's, however Rodd P. is no DJ,
his sounds are all originally composed and are not derived from turn
tables or contains any samples of other artists material. He is CEO
of his own indie label and has credits as an multi-faceted, solo artist,
producer, composer, percussionist, programmer, editor, and performer
from Racine, Wisconsin. His music best falls under a "trance-groove"
sort of heading. Rodd P.'s music has been quoted as "music worthy
of the big screen," and as "music that should stand the test of time."
Material by Rodd P. is currently being submitted for airplay, film/tv
soundtrack placement, and live performances throughout Southeastern
Wisconsin and Northern Illinois areas, with more markets to come in
near future. He has independantly released his first self-produced
and composed debut EP "Deep," and is currently working on the follow-up.
Rodd P. started young as a self-motivated entertainer, singing and
dancing at community centers, after acknowledging later that his true
heart was not only singing and dancing but the gift of having the
ear for the drum and music as a whole. Rodd P. set off to sit in with
various blues, rock, country, Latin, jazz, R &B, and dj acts around
his native city. After noticing that his feel for music was much higher
in spirit, he decided to put together something that everyone, young
and old, of all nationalities, could feel and through this "Deep"
has surfaced. After acknowlegements from greats like Tito Puente,
Sheila E., and Jerome of the former band "The Time," it sparked Rodd
P.'s interest in percussion and anything that came close to percussion,
electronic or acoustic. Rodd P. dominated it. As for music in general,
Rodd P. has always had the ear and the feel since day one so this
has led to a self-taught, goal-oriented writing and production career.
After 9 years of jam sessions with various bands ranging from blues,
rock, Latin, jazz, and R &B, Rodd P. has put it all together and has
come up with a hard to define style. Rodd P. defines his music as
real, raw, original talent. Judge for yourself! Here is just a sampling
of some of the groups Mr. P. has performed percussion with: DJ NK
- hip hop/club; Group Therapy - blues/rock; Yahoo - dance variety;
3 Floors Up - Latin; Buddy Miles (of the late Jimmi Hendrix) - blues;
