Biography

"Earthy sounds, 100% passion, No bullshit"

This is cordia

Cordia are a London based four-piece melodic rock band bearing comparison to Audioslave, Springsteen, Led Zeppelin and Coldplay.

Their organic sound comprises of Colin Burbury's inspired, diverse guitar work
ranging from celestial delay passages to bone-crunching riffs and all shades in between, complemented by the rhythm section of Mark Berry's groove-laden, percussive drumming style and bassist Daniel Ortega's funky, respectful melody lines. Splashes of acoustic guitar and piano from front man Chris George finish off the musical mix, coupled with a passionate, rich vocal delivery that is a trademark of the band.

Colin and Chris played in live bands in Bournemouth, learning their craft, building fans and writing the Cordia songbook before relocation to London in September 2004 to further continue their musical careers.

It was in Bournemouth that the foundations for their record label, Dead letter Recordings (www.deadletterrecordings.com) were cemented. Based on the idea of a consortium of like-minded bands and artists working together, sharing skills, contacts and ideas to develop their music, its continuing development is a success story for independent musicians.

A brand new set of recordings are in the process of completion, with a view to an independent release early 2006, as well as a new website and their first national tour,

With themes of love and death, passion and betrayal, the modern world and the human condition, the steady progression of this dedicated band looks set to continue.
